MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are a class of non-coding RNA molecules 21-23 nucleotide in length, which regulate gene expression at various levels.A limited amount of microRNAs have been studied in Asteraceae family, which includes important species such as sunflowers, lettuce, and Artemisia.To systematically investigate microRNAs in Artemisia annua glandular trichomes and to explore whether they participate in important biological processes, e.g.terpenoid metabolism and trichome development ,we identified a list of microRNAs from Artemisia annua glandular trichome EST collection of selected approach.
