  SiC nanofibers have exhibited better mechanical properties and oxidation resistance than their bulk materials,making them attractive for enhancing composites.The SiC nanofibers can be introduced into the spaces among carbon fibers to construct a multiscale reinforcement for improving the properties of ceramic matrix composites on micro-scale level.During the past years,several techniques were applied to synthesize the SiC nanofibers with the assistance of catalyst.
