河流输入是全球大洋海水溶解Ba 的主要来源,淡水中Ba 从粘土悬浮物的脱附作用使得河流输入水体富集Ba2+.河流输入淡水与海水在河口区混合时的粘土絮凝作用使得河口区的水体以高Ba2+和低盐为特征,而外海海域则为高盐、低Ba2+浓度,故可利用河流输入影响显著海区的溶解Ba 浓度估计表层海水盐度(SSS).
