　　Lithium,a direct inhibitor of glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK-3),has been widely prescribed mood stabilizer in treatment of bipolar disorder.Evidence suggests that lithium affects monocytic cells,which play pivotal roles in the innate immune systems in both the brain and peripheral tissues.
