SiO2/graphene composite was synthesized by a facile electrostatic self-assembly method followed by thermal reduction.SiO2 nanospheres with diameter of 320-340 nm were uniformly distributed on the surface of graphene.Graphene plays a key role to capture and distribute SiO2 nanospheres, thus SiO2/graphene composite has a good thermal stability up to 700 ℃.As anode material for Li-ion batteries(LIBs),SiO2/graphene composite delivered a much higher discharge capacity of 393 mAh·g1 than that of pure SiO2 after 270 cycles at the current density of 100 mA·g1,exhibiting favorable reversible capacity and improved cycling stability. This strategy can be extended to the assembly of other nanoparticles and graphene sheets for energy storage, sensing and catalysis.
