The inverse relationship between train mechanical energy consumption and trip time is proved by infinitesimal increment analysis of train speed profile.Firstly,a general optimal model for train driving strategy is given suitable for both mechanical braking and regenerative braking system,and driving strategy with four basic stages,maximum acceleration,speed-holding,coasting and maximum braking,is analyzed.The relationship between train consumed energy of the optimal driving strategy and trip time is proved by finding a feasible driving strategy which consumes less energy with more trip time,and the maximum and minimum energy consumptions for trip time free problem are further given.
