Cognitive radio(CR)needs to aware the surroundings and adapts the transmission parameters to the environment.One key problem of CRis to understand the multi-dimension and multi-scale characteristics of the dynamic multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)channel from the observations.In this paper,the formula of EM method in the frequency domain is derived and then based on the improved EM method the Expectation Maximization-Extended Kalman Filter(EM-EKF)isproposedfor estimation and tracking of the propagation path parameters in the time-varying MIMO channel.This papersimulates a macro cell scenariogenerated with the IlmProp.The simulation resultsshow that the proposed algorithm can sequentially estimate and track the parameters.
