Cellulose-graft-poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether acrylate] (Cell-g-PPEGA) and poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether acrylate] (PPEGA) comb-like copolymers were synthesized,respectively by electron transfer atom transfer radical polymerization (ARGET ATRP) (Figure 1).The PPEGA/PLA pair and Cell-g-PPEGA/PLA pair are both immiscible as confirmed by the measurements using phase contrast optical microscope (PCOM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
