There is a question would come to the model users mind: which segment of observation data should be used for calibration? Especially when model users face the case that applying models in ungauged or data-limited basin.Its important to make best use of these limited data.Calibration data variability is seldom considered in lumped conceptual rainfall-runoff models although it has significant impacts on modeling performance.
