An assessment of the water resources is a pre-requisite to understand the stress on the water resources and to subsequently adopt appropriate water management strategies.Distributed hydrological models are useful tools to address a range of hydrological problems, but have main obstacles of lacking sufficient spatially distributed data for input and model validation.Remote sensing offers promising opportunities for supplying quantitative relevant spatially explicit information of hydrometeorological states and fluxes over large areas at the appropriate scale, including precipitation, radiation, land surface temperature, land use, vegetation cover, and so on.
