With a sample of 13 course scores of 114 college students majored in civil engineering from Anyang Institute of Technology, multivariate statistical analysis including normality test, linear correlation analysis and principal component analysis was applied via SAS software system.The analysis results show that Structural Mechanics, Concrete Structure Design and Higher Mathematics are the most important courses to evaluate the educational effectiveness for civil engineering majored college students.Furthermore, it is held that principal component method may be more scientific and objective than traditional arithmetic sorting method.Improved recommendations were also proposed for civil engineering education.
