Three novel star-shaped SMs of TPA-OMe(FxBT-T-3Cz)3(x =0,1 or 2)based on a core of tris(2-methoxyphenyl)amine(TPA-OMe)and three arms of 7-[5-(9-octyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)thiophen-2yl]]-benzo[c][1,2,5]-thiadiazol-4-yl](FxBT-T-3Cz)were designed and synthesized with/without fluorine substitution in 5,6-positions of benzo-thiadiazole.The effect of the fluorine(F)atom on the photophysical,electrochemical and photovoltaic performance was investigated.A similar wide UV-vis absorption from 300 to 800 nm,a decreasing HOMO energy level and an enhancing hole mobility are observed for TPA-OMe(FxBT-T-3Cz)3 with increase of the fluorine substitution.
