  The applicability of centrifugal microfluidic platforms to real-world commercial environments is severely limited by their lack of control over fluid flow in directions other than radially outwards from the center of rotation.We have developed a centrifugal microfluidic platform with two degrees of freedom that greatly enhances fluidic control in these platforms and allows fluidic operations that were previously inaccessible to be easily and reproducibly performed.
