Energy Harvesting Sensor Networks with a Mobile Control Center: Optimal Transmission Policy

  Wireless energy transfer is a potential way to prolong the lifetime of energy-constrained devices,such as wireless sensor networks.However,due to the huge propagation attenuation,power efficiency is widely regarded as the biggest bottleneck.So it is significantly essential to investigate transmission policies for the network to improve the whole energy efficiency.To this end,this paper focuses on the sensor networks scenario in which a mobile control center powers the sensor node by RF signal and then collects information from sensor node.Two related schemes,called as harvest-use and harvest-store-use,are explored in this paper.The expression of optimum transmission policy is derived in terms of throughput maximization.For the same throughput requirement,a large portion of energy can be saved by employing optimum transmission policy compared with traditional transmission policies.
