The opening up of Japanese Shinkansen in 1964 was served as the prelude to the rapid development of high-speed rail(HSR).Then Europe followed to construct HSR on a smaller scale,and became the regions with the largest HSR network in the world in 1980s and 1990s.At the beginning of the 21st century,China,Korea,and Turkey opened their own HSR lines.Till 2013,East Asia replaces Europe to be the region with the largest HSR network.The forming integrated HSR network in East Asia has much larger influence on spatial-economic system.This paper tries to explore the influence of HSR on East Asias socio-economic development based on the expansion of HSR network in East Asia.First,the paper analyzes the space-time convergence caused by HSR in East Asia from the perspective of accessibility.Second,this paper analyzes the economic benefits of HSR network from transnational scale and national scale.Third,the paper analyzes the spatial development mode and spatial contact of urban agglomeration from the perspective of the agglomeration and diffusion of population.Finally,this paper will summarize the relationship between the spatial mode of human economic activity and the progress of traffic technological progress.
