Objective To investigate the effects of chronic intermittent hypoxia (C/H) on endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) and associated apoptotic pathways in genioglossus, as well as the possible intervention role of adiponectin (Ad) supplement in rats. Methods Forty-five male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups:normal control group (group A) , ClH group (group B), and ClH+Ad group (group C) with 15 rats in each.Rats in group A were kept breathing room air, while rats in groups B and C experienced the same CIH environment (8 h/day for successive 35 days).
