Due to its stereotypical division pattern,early embryogenesis in flowering plants has long been used as a model system for botanists to explore the mechanisms of cell differentiation and cell–to-cell interaction.In tobacco and Arabidopsis,the first typical zygotic division is usually asymmetrical and gives rise to two daughter cells that differ in both morphology and destiny.
