Purpose: To demonstrate the effects of a novel Smac/DIABLO mimetic APG1387 on properties of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cancer stem-like cells, and invest further to establish the mechanisms thereof.Method: FACS was used to sort SP cells.Suspension culture assay was performed to detect nasosphere.Western-blotting was used to detect the protein levels.Immunoprecipitation was employed to determine the protein-protein interactions.Molecular cloning and lipofectamine transfection technology was used for plasmid construction, transfection and RNA Interference.Results: We found that the S18 cell line had higher SP population portion and stronger ability of sphere-formation and metastasis, which suggests higher CSC-like properties than other NPC cell lines.
