近十来年,海洋学家研究了海洋中温、盐和密度在细尺度(1—100米)范围内的变化,即温、盐和密度的细结构。产生细(和微)结构的机理大致有两种:1.不同水团的相互交错。它又有两种可能:一种为流速切变产生的机械搅拌;一种为双扩散产生的对流搅拌。2.内波破碎,它能产生不同于流速切变所产生的机械搅拌。 研究海洋细微结构中一个重要的问题是要确定产生细微结构的机理。Jahnsan.Cox和Gallagher(1978)提出了一个分辨内波破碎和水团入侵产生的细微结构的判据。
In the last decade or so, oceanographers have studied ocean temperature, salt and density variations in the fine scale (1-100 m), ie, fine structures of temperature, salt and density.
