The world is undergoing tremendous changes and adjustments. While some developed countries are seeing a decline in influence， emerging countries are ratcheting up their infl uence on the rest of the world.
Against this backdrop of global transformation， China’s positive role in global governance is propping up the world’s peace and development.
The strength and continuous growth make it possible for China to assert a positive influence on global governance. After 68 years of continuous effort， China has cast off poverty and weakness and grown to be the world’s second largest economy. This miracle of development is unprecedented in both Chinese and world history. China’s achievements have been regarded as a success story in terms of development.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China， the Central Government has hammered out a series of strategic arrangements to comprehensively deepen reform on the state governance system. A number of breakthroughs have been achieved in terms of theories， policies and practices of state governance.
China’s positive role in global governance embodies its contributions to the world. China has constantly been improving the concept of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the process of reform and opening up.
Meanwhile， China has proposed to build the community of common destiny and develop a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect and win-win cooperation. In international affairs， China also adheres to the principles that all nations should respect each other’s sovereignty， dignity and territorial integrity， the rights to choose development paths and social systems， and each other’s core interests and major concerns. China always pursues to resolve international disputes through peaceful means and work together with the international community to mediate in confl icts by upholding the spirit of justice.
China also actively participates in global governance through practical actions， such as combating the Ebola epidemic in West Africa， and reinforcing aid for infrastructure construction and public services in underdeveloped countries in order to eradicate poverty. With these efforts， China has received strong support from many developing countries.
China’s positive role in global governance is also reflected in its efforts to promote world economic development. The Chinaproposed Belt and Road Initiative draws increasing attention in the world. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank founded in 2015 has become an important multilateral lender in promoting development in Asia.
China firmly upholds free trade and works on reducing barriers for cross-border trade and investment. China spares no efforts to resolve issues including imbalances in development， difficulties in governance， and the digital divide and income disparity that come along with the economic globalization. China calls on the world to make concerted efforts to realize the inclusive and balanced growth that benefi ts all.
