上海市金属学会在复会后经过整顿和发展,已拥有1400多名会员。七九年举行了六十六次座谈会及报告会,有8000多人次参加了活动。七九年十一月七日～九日举行了上海市金属学会第二届年会,盛况空前,征集学术论文290多篇,9000多人次参加了年会各组学术活动。年会的一大特点是各学组的老一辈专家都亲自作本专业领域的发展动态报告,使大家开扩了眼界,鼓励青年科技人员更加奋发努力;在
Shanghai Metal Society after the resumption of rectification and development, has more than 1,400 members. Sixty-six symposiums and seminars were held in 1979 and more than 8,000 people attended the event. From November 7 to September 9, 1979, the second annual meeting of the Shanghai Institute of Metals was held at an unprecedented height with more than 290 academic papers collected and over 9,000 participants attended various academic activities of the annual conference. One of the major features of the annual meeting is that the experts of the older generation in each group have personally made reports on developments in this field of specialization so that they can broaden their horizons and encourage more vigorous efforts by young scientists and technicians.
