三十四年前,后来成为美国总统的老布什到北京接掌美国驻华联络处,中国在这之后的四年才开始真正改变。分水岭事件是中国共产党第十一届三中全会。这次会议于1978年12月闭幕,也就是三十一年前。很少有人会想到那次会议的讲话,将改变的不仅是中国,还有世界。在中国,邓小平的复杂、引人自豪的改革试验已经持续三十年了。毫无疑问,现在的中国强大了,这是全世界都能感知到的,但是国际社会似乎看不到中国经济高速发展背后的价值体系,不明白究竟是什么在推动中国经济如此快速发展,到底有没有一个所谓的“中国模式”?
Thirty-four years ago, George HW Bush, who later became the president of the United States, took over the United States liaison office in Beijing and China did not really change until four years later. The watershed incident is the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. The meeting closed in December 1978, that is, thirty-one years ago. Few people think of the speech at that meeting and will change not only China but also the world. In China, Deng Xiaoping’s complicated and proud reform experiment has lasted for 30 years. There is no doubt that now China is strong. This is something that the whole world can sense. However, the international community does not seem to see the value system behind China’s rapid economic development. It does not understand exactly what is driving the rapid economic growth in China. Is there a so-called “Chinese model”?
