2003年12月6日,上海图书馆三楼会议室坐满了来自中外的学人,其中海外学者有加拿大的CharlesTaylor、澳大利亚的MeaghanMorris、英国的ScottLash、美国的李欧梵、日本的坂井洋史、韩国的ChoHaejoang、香港的陈清侨、新加坡的蔡明发等;大陆其他城市和上海的与会者有南帆、陈映芳、王安忆、王晓明等。来自四面八方的人坐到了一起,探讨“当代东亚城市:新的文化和意识形态”话题。会议主题包含三个主题:当代城市的历史想像、变动中的日常生活和跨城市的时空,细致分析了都市的历史想像如何介入当下的文化构成、新的文化政经机制如何在不同层面支配乃至重组都市的日常生活、东亚各主要城市内部和之间具有共通性的时空领域,及其为孕育新的社会和文化能量提供的动力等问题。在会议的间隙,来自美国的李欧梵先生接受了本刊记者的专访。
On December 6, 2003, the conference room on the third floor of the Shanghai Library was filled with scholars from home and abroad. Among them overseas scholars are Canada Charles Taylor, Meaghan Morris of Australia, Scott Lash of England, Lee O Fan of the United States, Sakai Yang of Japan, Cho Haejoang, Chan Ching Kiu in Hong Kong, Tsai Ming-Fat in Singapore, etc. Other participants in the mainland China and Shanghai include Nan Fan, Chen Yingfang, Wang Anyi and Wang Xiaoming. People from all walks of life come together to discuss the topic of “Contemporary East Asian Cities: New Culture and Ideology.” The theme of the conference consists of three themes: the historical imagination of contemporary cities, the changing daily life and the trans-city space-time, a detailed analysis of how the historical imagination of the city intervenes in the current cultural composition, and how the new cultural political and economic mechanisms dominate or even at different levels The daily life of a reorganized metropolitan area, the time and space areas that have commonalities within and among major cities in East Asia, and their impetus to nurture new social and cultural energies. In the meeting space, Mr. Li Oufan from the United States accepted an interview with our correspondents.
