无产阶级文化大革命以来,玉米杂种优势的利用进展迅速,形成了广泛的群众运动,新的优良杂交种不断涌现,在粮食增产方面起到了一定作用。但是,由于我国种植玉米的地区辽阔,自然条件差别很大,杂交种的推广很不平衡。目前适合丘陵山区、旱薄地带以及玉米种植分散地区的杂交种还不多,而且,这些地区一般人少地多,土地瘠薄,用种量大,种植杂交种存在着制种和亲本繁殖面积大、产量低等问题。因此,如能选育早熟、稳产、品质好、有一定增产潜力的玉米综合品种,并在这些地区推广,对全面提高玉米单位面积产量,将能起到积极作用。近几年来,我们在河南省南阳地区推广了几个玉米综合品种,取得了较好效果。例如,邓县刁河公社湍南大队,1972年种植84亩“豫综70-3”,平均亩产717.5斤,1973年“豫综70-3”已在这个大队普及,并迅速扩种到周围大队。方城县城关公社翟庄大队农科所,1972年试种了8亩“予综70-1”,其中3亩春播,平均亩产1,107斤;5亩夏播,平均亩产772斤,比当
