1991年,是电脑音乐历史上一个特殊的纪年。在这一年,国际MIDI协会提出了划时代的通用MIDI标准(Ceneral MIDI),该标准是基于Roland公司于1984年推出的GS音色标准,经过各个电脑音乐设备厂商认可后制定的。从此,各个电脑音乐的软硬件厂商终于结束了各自为政的混乱局面,使MIDI设备之间的联系与沟通成为了可能。今天,我们所使用的很多产品都是按照这个标准生产的,无论是手机或是Windows系统中的软件音源,基本都遵循了这一普遍的工业标准。
In 1991, is a special anniversary in the history of computer music. This year, the International MIDI Consortium proposed the epoch-making General MIDI Standard (Ceneral MIDI), based on Roland’s GS Voice standard, introduced in 1984, and approved by various computer music equipment manufacturers. Since then, the hardware and software vendors of all computer music finally ended its chaotic situation, making the connection and communication between MIDI devices possible. Today, many of the products we use are manufactured according to this standard, and the common industry standard is basically followed, regardless of whether it is a software source for a phone or Windows system.
