从1858年石达开率军进入浙江,到1864年清军首领左宗棠进入浙江,太平天国在浙江活动长达六年,战争对浙江社会经济和文化产生了非常大的影响。在社会经济方面,战争造成人口的锐减和对农业生产以及商业的严重破坏,同时战后浙江自耕农的数量也有了一定的增加;在社会文化方面,主要表现为对鸦片和赌博的严令禁止以及对中国传统文化的极大冲击。
From 1858, the Shida Army entered Zhejiang, and by 1864, Zuo Zongtang, the leader of the Qing Army, entered Zhejiang. The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom took place in Zhejiang for six years.
