Rotary crushers may be the cheapest and most convenient device among the shale removing devices because they operate dry, so these devices are widely used to remove shale and stones. Jiggers and HM baths are two other important devices for shale removal, but they are expensive and inconvenient as they operate wet jobs. However, there is very little information available in the published paper on shale removal by rotary crushers. The complex process of shale removal in a gyratory crusher can be considered as consisting of four processes (Figure 1a): pre-screening, sorting, crushing and rescaling. These processes should in theory be interconnected in the order mentioned above, but this is rare. In fact, these processes can be considered in parallel, within a certain range can be the final process of rescreening began, the initial pre-screening process ended (Figure 1b). Use so many processes in coal handling, except
