Discourse cohesion theory can be applied to the field of language teaching and discourse analysis. The application of this theory in college English reading teaching will help students to develop their ability to understand texts. This paper analyzes several common grammatical cohesion devices in college English reading and attempts to reveal the necessity of reading teaching at the discourse level.
