When Fidelity Range Extensions (FRExt) modifications were added to the H.264 Advanced Video Coding (AVC) standard, 4x4 and 8x8 integer discrete cosine transforms (DCTs) were adaptively used in the high distribution, resulting in The H.264 / AVC encoder of considerable computational complexity is more complicated. To solve this problem, a new algorithm is proposed in this paper. By reusing integer DCT coefficients of the generated 4x4 blocks in 8x8 blocks, the number of operations of the first level computation is reduced. The results show that the computation complexity of horizontal 8 × 8 integer DCT is reduced by more than 25% and the calculation time is reduced by 22%.
