In many diseases, especially chronic inflammatory and infectious diseases, the migration of peripheral white blood cells in endothelial cells is a key step in the progression of the disease. In this process, mononuclear cells play a congenital and adaptive immune, immune surveillance, antigen clearance, host defense and inflammatory clearance multiple functions have been widely attention. Monocyte migration is a prerequisite for its function, and the study of the interaction between adhesion molecules expressed on monocytes and endothelial cells is the key to elucidating the mechanism of monocyte migration. This review summarizes the role of adhesion molecules in the migration of mononuclear cells and highlights the key role of adhesion molecules in order to provide theoretical basis or new ideas for molecular targeted therapy in response to inflammatory diseases.
