In order to detect gravitational changes associated with crustal activity, accurate gravimetric retesting along the coast of Japan in the northeast region was conducted every year from 1982 to 1985. The Geostationary Institute (GSI) measured the gravitational force using two LaCoste & Romberg gravimeters at 90 first-class points established on the 400 km long route from Shenpu to Moguang. The measurement accuracy is estimated to be within 0.02 mgal.
