大型体育赛事的举办对主办城市及其周边地区的经济增长有明显的影响效应,成为当代最具活力和成长潜力的产业之一。对规模巨大的全运会进行长期、不间断的投入,能刺激举办城市经济的发展,满足举办城市发展经济的需求。辽宁省承办第十二届全运会不仅可以弘扬辽宁“体育大省”的精神风貌,还可以促进“辽宁沿海经济带”的战略性建设,辐射整个东北地区,从而带动东北地区体育产业的发展。在调整产业结构,优化产业模式的基础之上,进一步繁荣东北经济,促进东北地区的经济一体化,实现区域经济的跨越式发展。
