On October 25-26, 2014, the 93rd Symposium on “New Ideas and New Theory of Academic Symposia” with the theme of “Concept and Innovation: Unconventional Geology” was held in Beijing. Zhao Wenjin, Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chief Engineer of the Office of Land and Resources of Tibet Autonomous Region, and Zhang Jinchuan, a professor of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) as the leading scientist. More than 50 experts and scholars from unconventional oil and gas, geothermal and dry-hot rocks, unconventional resources and planetary geology attended the meeting. In recent years, shale gas, tight sandstone oil and gas, coalbed methane, natural gas hydrate, as the representative of unconventional oil and gas geological research, geothermal energy and hot and dry rock exploration and development, unconventional
