深秋的行脚深秋的广州是旅游的旺季。华侨、港澳同胞、外国友人纷至沓来,我们却朝祖国大陆的更南端——港九方面而去。我们是于一九八四年十二月十四日去香港参加香港大学华侨历史讨论会的。十位同行者中,七十四岁的暨南大学朱杰勤老教授是一位博学多才,著名的海外交通史专家,这几年他致力华侨历史的研究。还有中山大学何肇发、黄重言副所长、林家劲副教授等也是近年来致力于侨史研究的。我们带着侨史研究的课题去同世界三大洲几个国家和地区的专家学者们聚首一堂,研讨华侨历史中共同关心的问题。
Autumn is the peak of tourism in Guangzhou. Overseas Chinese, compatriots in Hong Kong and Maucao and foreign friends are pouring in, and we are heading toward the more southern end of the motherland - Hong Kong and Kowloon. On December 14, 1984, we went to Hong Kong to attend the Hong Kong University Chinese History Seminar. Of the ten colleagues, the 47-year-old Professor Jie-Qin Zhu at Jinan University is an erudite and famous expert in overseas traffic history. In recent years, he has devoted himself to the study of the history of overseas Chinese. There are also Zhongshan University, He Zhaofa, deputy director of Huang Zongyan, Associate Professor Lin Jiajin is also committed to overseas Chinese history in recent years. With the topics of overseas Chinese history research, we gather with experts and scholars from several countries and regions in three continents of the world to discuss issues of common concern in the history of overseas Chinese.
