本所成立于1979年。现设有害虫、病害、农药、科技开发研究室和植保技术开发公司,有正、副研究员10人,主要从事植物病虫草害发生规律及防治技术、抗病虫育种、农药新产品研究推广及食用菌高产栽培技术等方面的研究,已取得科研成果100余项(其中获奖30余项),发表科研论文200余篇,先后派出5人赴澳大利亚、埃及和独联体国家进行专业考察和合作研究。
