计算机网络建设投资较大,建设周期较长。选择什么样的网络作为企业的骨干网络就成为摆在工程设计者面前的重要课题。目前,由于网络通讯量的增加造成对网络带宽的需求增加和设备价格的不断下调,10M网络已经基本退出了主干网络市场,代之以100M及以上的网络。在这些网络技术中,目前主要有100Base-T,100VG-Anylan,FDDI和ATM,以及正在兴起的1000Base-T。随着国民经济信息化进程的加快,计算机(信息)技术的应用越来越成为提高企业生产效率和市场竞争力的有力手段。在这些应用中,传统的CAD、CAM和CAPP等工程设计自动化系统,DCS、OCS等生产过程自动化控制系统和MIS、MRP、ERP(MRP Ⅱ)等管理工具由于技术的进步而不断改进提高,由各自独立地发挥作用发展到逐渐渗透、融合。一些新的技术,如CIMS(计算机集成制造系统)在逐渐推广。而这一切,都离不开计算机网络建设,并使其逐渐成为了工程建设中企业自动化系统的一个重要组成部分。在我们的客户群中,比如烟草行业,如何建设计算机网络已经成为行业主管部门对骨干企业的要求。
