有线电视是通过同轴电缆或者光纤电缆传输电视信号的系统,最早出现于20世纪40年代的美国,被称作cable television,这种传输电视信号的系统的开发目的是改善偏远地区和山区接收电视节目的质量。随着有线电视的不断发展,该系统与因特网互相连接,不仅能接收包括卫星广播电视在内的远地电视节目,而且可以收看自办公电视节目和录像。提高有线电视节目的传输质量则需要对光节点和光缆电路进行科学的维护,本文将简单介绍有线电视的定义,并浅谈有线电视网络光节点和光缆线路的维护措施。
