In July 1992, the State Council decided to expand Shougang’s investment project rights, foreign trade and economic autonomy and financial facilities. Since then, Shougang’s cross-border operation has entered a new era. In the past year or so, Shougang has made full use of all the autonomy given by the state and has actively explored and dared to make progress. It has written a new page for the multinational operation of the enterprise. I. New achievements in cross-border operation of Shougang Group 1. Export foreign exchange earnings In 1993, Shougang Corporation’s foreign exchange earnings and overseas operations reached 630 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 79% over the 351.8 million U.S. dollars in 1992. More than 270 kinds of export foreign exchange products have been sold in 34 countries
