竹荪(Dictyophora Pha)又名竹菌、竹笙、竹参、仙人笠等,属担子菌纲、鬼笔科、竹荪属。我省大别山区,蕴藏着丰富的竹荪资源。据新县15个乡考查,有潮湿的竹林均有竹荪生长,而且主要为长裙竹荪(Dindusiata)。近年来,由于国内外市场对竹荪的需要量不断增加,依靠采收野生竹荪远远不能满足需要,因此,各地都在引种驯化,进行人工栽培。我站于1983年进行竹荪的人工驯化和栽培,通过反复试验、分离,获得了竹荪纯菌种,同时进行人工栽培初步
