由首都一百多位文化工作者组成的第一批六个农村文化工作队,于3月20日前后分别离开北京,开赴河北、河南、山东、山西、辽宁、安徽等六省的六个县的农村,去帮助开展农村文化工作。农村文化工作队是由文化部、中国文学艺术界联合会、中国共产主义青年团中央委员会联合组织的。组织这样的工作队是文化工作支援农业、巩固集体经济、加强工农联盟、密切城乡文化联系、推动农村文化工作的一项具体措施。工作队的主要任务,是帮助县的文化艺术单位(如县文化馆、县图书馆、县书店、县剧团和电影放映队)更好地开展农村文化工作,并适当辅导农村群众业余文化活动;同时,适当地开展一些小型文化宣传活动,向农民群众进行社会主义教育。
