1997年3月，美俄首脑在芬兰赫尔辛基举行第12次会晤，ZI00多名各国记者前去采访，展开了激烈的新闻大战。历来，这类重大国际新闻的摄影报道都被西方大通讯社垄断，我国新华社所发的有关图片，多为美联社提供。而这一次，美联社反过来向我新华拉索要现场图片，这是极为罕见的。
In March 1997, the heads of state of the United States and Russia held their 12th meeting in Helsinki, Finland. ZI00 reporters from various countries went to interview and launched a fierce news war. Historically, the photographs of such major international news outlets have been monopolized by the Western News Agency, and the pictures issued by China’s Xinhua News Agency are mostly provided by the Associated Press. And this time, the Associated Press in turn to my Xinhua cable to live pictures, it is extremely rare.
