苗刀,作为我国冷兵器时代的产物,创制于西汉初年,距今已有两千多年的历史。当时亦称长刀,是现今苗刀的祖型。它在我国兵器史和抗侵略的历史上占有非常重要的地位。 一、苗刀历史追溯 西汉以前,将吏佩带或在战场厮杀用的都是剑,而不是刀。荆轲刺秦王的“图穷匕首见”和鱼藏剑“专诸刺王僚”的故事,都是大家所熟知的。这两种藏于图卷和鱼腹的利器都是短剑。
