红花是我国古老的栽培作物,分布面很广。过去栽培红花,在于取其花瓣入药。第二次世界大战以后,高油分的红花品种出现,才迅速发展成为新兴的油料作物。 红花籽含油率25%左右,油质清亮澄黄,可制高级点心,是调味佳品。红花油中亚油酸含量很高,长期食用有预防动脉粥样硬化的功能,是冠心病人的理想食用油。
