本区处在古亚洲地槽华力西晚期褶皱带珲春复向斜的东部。作者在金泉岗、老头沟、黄松甸子、草坪、兰家趟子等金矿点上,通过对含金层、古砂金物性特征及自然金连生矿物的研究,确定了古水流的分布及流向,并得出古砂金矿以机械成因为主的认识。由古砂金的微量元素含量、铅同位素组成及包裹体成分的测定结果,表明这些自然金是形成在压力较大的地壳深部,其来源应与燕山期中酸性侵入体有关。作者还指出了普查原生金矿重点地段及应注意问题。
