我院和上海东升金属厂在80年2—3月共同进行了工业试验,成功地制取了锐钛型涂料钛白、电焊条钛白。试验表明钛渣具有良好的酸溶性,与以两广钛铁矿为原料的硫酸法比较,在现有的生产设备上磨料与酸解工序可提高产能50%,省去冷冻结晶工序,不产生硫酸亚铁,水解工序可提高产能25%,硫酸消耗可降低近30%,废酸、废渣量也可减少。经济上把钛渣价格降低到650元/吨即可与两广钛铁矿生产钛白成本相当。工业试验的成功为攀枝花钛铁矿的综合利用开辟了前景。
