鹤峰县铁炉白族乡位于湘鄂边陲,辖12个行政村,100个村民小组,总人口1.5万人。现有民族中学1所、完全小学2所、教学点3个,教职员工103人,其中具备本科学历的42人,具有专科学历的32人,具有中师学历的28人。近几年来,该乡坚持把农村义务教育放在全乡各项工作的首位来抓,加大教育投入,关爱教师学生,创新管理机制,提升教育质量,通过不懈的努力,该乡教育质量由原来全县的末位逐步上升为全县之首,谱写出了农村义务教育均衡
