美味猕猴桃“米良1号”是由湖南省吉首大学生物系猕猴桃科研课题组在湘西凤凰县米良乡调查发现并选育出来的。1989年通过品系鉴定:该品系性状良好,遗传稳定,嫁接苗移栽成活率高,生长成熟快,抗逆性强,适应性广,结果早(果实的整个生产发育期约145天左右),产量高,耐贮藏(自然条件下可存放一个月左右),果实的品质各项指标都达到国内优质水平。“米良1号”果型大,单果一般为80—110克,果肉黄绿色,味纯正,酸甜适度,清香,果肉为可溶性固体物。定植三年后,一般亩产1000—1500公斤,适宜在长江中下游推广。
