一缘起虽然“打麻雀(麻将)牌”产生于中国的明清时期而盛行于当代,但是其既可以为少数爱赌人士进行的赌钱活动,又可以为各界人士纯作消闲娱乐的游戏竞技活动。故此,至今不但是澳门乃至整个大中华地区,甚至是世界各国最为流行的一种赌博或消闲竞技的活动方式,经常有国际性的公开比赛举行。然而,在最近举行的“第五届欧洲麻将公开赛”中,中国麻将队仅获第37名。①对此一“国粹”牌技之被东西洋人遥遥领先,颇令笔者与一些国人同怀感慨。
