零陵四中副校长郭明正(党支书记)、数学教员张秋生在总路线的光辉照耀下、在大闹技术革命的浪潮里,大破迷信,解放思想,冲破重重困难,经过四十多次的试验,终于用土办法烧制成功了高标号水泥。这种水泥没有正式测定强度,但从凝结速度、硬度和耐酸性能上来观察,完全有把握达到和超过400号标号。8月上旬中共零陵县委已在该校召开了各水泥厂厂长、技术员等参加的现场会议,将在全县普遍推广用土办法制高标号水泥,以满足即将到来的水利建设高潮需要。
