《项链》作为奠泊桑最重要的代表作品之一,长久以来一直都是文学领域津津乐道的经典之作。在该部作品中,作者运用出人意料的构思、形象生动的刻画,为广大读者展示出小说女主人公玛蒂尔德可悲可怜最终又可叹的人生经历。纵观该部小说我们可以发现,《项链》中的悲剧意识是从故事开始一直蔓延到小说收尾的,“居心叵测”的作者最终用残酷的“覆雨翻云”手,为我们展现出整个悲剧的荒诞、无意义,而这一切恰恰又更加深化了《项链》本身的悲剧效
